The Pro Tool Innovation Awards exist to answer three questions that matter to anyone who buys tools, fasteners, accessories, and similar products for a living:
- Which manufacturers are actually moving the industry forward?
- Which tools, accessories, and fasteners are worth a Pro’s hard-earned money this year?
- What’s genuinely innovative, as opposed to simply repackaged?
Pro Tool Reviews launched the awards in 2013 as a way to identify the year’s best new tools for its own readers. It has since grown well past what anyone there planned for, and it’s still run by people who spend their days testing tools rather than administering awards programs.
We judge products on what they do on the job. We look at features, durability, ergonomics, and price, and consider those metrics against the alternatives. A winning product beats its competition on at least one axis that a working tradesman or contractor would notice. It either has more capability, less weight, faster cycle times, longer runtime, a better feel in the hand, or it may simply give you “more tool” for the dollar.
What We’re Looking For
We want to see what you’re releasing and what you think is going to change how work gets done. Your product can be in residential or commercial construction, landscaping, automotive, or any other number of trades or industries. We are looking for innovation across power tools, hand tools, accessories, fasteners, and more. The field is crowded in every category, and the entries that win are the ones that give our judges something concrete to take notice of.
Entering is open to all manufacturers and marketing agencies. Everyone is welcome to connect with us and get on the invitation list, but there are no exclusive membership requirements, and no advantage to being the biggest name in a category. Products are evaluated on their merits by people in the trades who use tools in a professional capacity.
